Job Function:

This position provides financial aid services to students through phone, and email. It works cooperatively as part of a team in a fast paced, dynamic office. This position will also process financial aid forms and follow general office procedures. Additional duties are assigned as well.

Primary Functions:

  • Provide customer service via phone, and email.

  • Work independently to perform various clerical tasks.

  • Compile, input, and prepare a variety of information using technology and software systems.

  • Maintain confidential information and records for financial aid applicants.

  • Assist students and families through financial aid process.

  • Occasional evening or Saturday hours.

Secondary Functions:

  • Communicate with and refer students to other college departments as applicable.

  • Oversee student employees on various tasks.

    Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must currently hold the title of Office Clerk II OR be reachable on the Civil Service Eligibility list titled Office Clerk II OR meet the below minimum requirements for a provisional appointment, if offered;

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

  • (A) Graduation with an Associate's degree or successful completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours from a college or university; OR,

  • (B) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience*; OR,

  • (C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above. *Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.

  • Must be Monroe County Resident

If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.

    Additional Information:

Job Type: Full time

Hours: 8:45am to 4:45pm, Monday through Friday

Salary: $38,638.57 per. Eligible for increment after 6 months of service.
