POSITION SUMMARY:

Cytogenetic Technologists will process and analyze chromosomes found in biological specimens such as Amniotic Fluid. Bone Marrow and Blood to aid in the study, diagnosis and treatment of Genetic diseases.

RESPOINSIBILITIES:

• Process Blood, Bone Marrow, Amniotic Fluid/CVS, Tissue for Cytogenetic Analysis

• Perform Chromosome Analysis

• Perform Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridization (FISH) Analysis

• New Test Validation

• Perform Instrument QC/ Maintenance

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS required

• Cytogenetic preferred

• Tissue Culture, LIS, eRecord preferred

• NYS License for Clinical Laboratory Technologist or

• eligible for NYS Restricted License in Cytogenetics required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $33.84 - $43.99 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
