Job Description:

This Manufacturing Engineer will contribute to the company’s success by supporting all aspects of the assembly process, assembly lines, and equipment for the Jefferson Road Operations Center. It is essential that this role works effectively in a team environment as well as possess the ability to be self-sufficient when responding to operational support requests or performing proactive duties. This role will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is responsible for successfully developing and maintaining production processes while driving improvements in these processes through providing structured problem solving for production issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and support assembly processes for new and existing products, including fixturing / tooling, automated equipment programming, and PLCs.

  • Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions.

  • Drive factory improvement through:

  • Leader Standard Work

  • GEMBA process

  • Zero-Defect Strategies

  • Comprehensive, Proactive Safety initiatives

  • Lean deployment

  • Mistake Proofing / Poke Yoke

  • 5S+1

  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

  • Work with other Engineering functions to identify and implement process improvements through projects.

  • Work with operators and operations supervisors to interpret and analyze operator suggestions to yield better production methods.

  • Identify root cause and establish corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods and tools.

  • Manage product & process change through participation in change control boards.

  • Monitor the impact of defective material on operational yields and scrap through participation in Material Review Board Meetings.

  • Support production validation builds on new/modified processes.

  • Interface with vendor and subcontractor representatives.

  • Define and implement production system standards, including staffing models, and provide training to Engineers and Technicians.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience or Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with industrial manufacturing including electro-mechanical assembly.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience with MS Office products like Word and Excel.

  • Experience with IPC workmanship standards, including IPC-610 and J-STD-001.

  • Electro-Mechanical Assembly process experience including fixture design, robotics/automation, and mechanical process equipment.

  • Lean Six Sigma training, preferably Yellow or Green Belt certification.

  • Exposure to Additive Manufacturing processes and technology.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals outside of one’s own department to complete projects that have a moderate impact on departmental results.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $67,000 - $125,000. For California, Seattle and New York City, the salary range for this role is $76,500 - $142,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
