Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an experienced Lead Software Architect who will lead the technical design, development of new functionality, as well as providing support of the Network simulation environment. This role will use project management skills to help plan out sprints in for an Agile development. The candidate will be key in providing Networking expert technical support to Product Development teams, and Program Execution teams. The Lead Software Architect will be tasked with describing complex networking solutions to audiences of varying technical backgrounds. The candidate will also work collaboratively across the engineering organization as well as with other locations supporting the requirements of the distributed development teams. The Lead Software Architect will partner closely with Radio Project Chief Engineers and Development teams to ensure consistent strategy, direction, and alignment with the overall networking simulation environment of continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the team to architect new software features that meet internal customer requirements.

  • Work with the test team to make sure software requirement are clearly defined.

  • Help team estimate scope and plan work accordingly.

  • Mentor and lead junior developers in their work.

  • Participate in regular code reviews to ensure all code meets standards.

  • Maintain version control and release strategies.

  • Maintain continuous integration environment.

  • Ensure that the code maintains unit and integration testing standards.

  • Lead team through agile and SCRUM ceremonies.

  • Must maintain task tracking and visibility into development activities.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related engineering experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to partner with stake holders and team leaders to identify needs and develop marketable Tactical Communication System solutions which provide customer value.

  • Proven and effective communications skills, interpersonal skills and customer focus are a must.

  • Expert knowledge of software architecture design patterns.

  • Expert knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.

  • Expert with one or more common version control tools such as GIT or SVN. (GIT preferred)

  • Basic understanding of LAN routing/switching protocols and standards.

  • Experience deploying software in a continuous integration environment (Jenkins).

  • Strong Familiarity with JIRA task tracking tools.

  • Experience with SQL or other relational databases.

  • Basic knowledge of XML.

  • Expert knowledge of one or more programming languages C# and Python preferred.

  • Mastery using one or more IDEs, Visual Studio preferred.

  • Active US DoD Secret Clearance or Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $106,500- $197,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
