Purpose:

Definition, maintenance, and support of Operational Smart Grids (OSG) infrastructure operational policies, standards, best practices, procedures, tools, and projects in support of efficient, resilient, and secure operations of OSG supported applications and facilities.

Leads the technical directions for teams and external vendors to provide operational support for a diverse set of operational enterprise services. Monitor operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Align the operational requirements with relevant global/corporate operational requirement(s), security framework(s) and/or associated regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong Microsoft Operating System knowledge
• Experience in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy design and management•
• The Systems Engineer, Active Directory & Windows Servers will be responsible for the design, maintenance, management, and support of all aspects of the Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of authentication, authorization and LDAP related services
• This individual will also be responsible for the build, testing and upgrade initiatives for the AD and Windows Server infrastructure
• Provide capacity planning and performance monitoring to sustain and improve server availability and efficiency
• Provide 3rd level support for Windows Servers, & Desktops
• Active Directory for end users, application, web, and infrastructure teams
• Redhat Enterprise Linux (Physical and Virtual (VMware) Environment)
• experience with Linux/Unix and Unix shell scripting
• Redhat Satellite Server and Ansible experience
• Experience in standing up new services and tools on virtual machines within a Linux environment.
• Experience with Gitlab, Docker, and repo mirrors
• Experience with Python
• PowerShell, and Bash scripting
• Familiar with VMware ESXi and VSphere
• Familiar with virtualization network on multiple classifications
• Familiarity with Multiple HCI technologies
• Maintain regulatory compliance under NERC/CIP guidelines.
• Maintain high quality security controls surrounding the critical SCADA systems.
• Perform/coordinate special assignments from OSG Infrastructure Management.
• Provide 24x7 on call support.
• Provide professional and technical mentoring for team members.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: BS/BA Degree in Business, Computer Science, or other technical discipline. MA/MS Degree preferred. Will consider additional years of relevant experience and/or related technical certifications in lieu of degree requirement (in accordance with the FLSA Computer Professionals Exemption)

Education and Experience Requirements: Meet at least one of the following:

• AS Technical Related Degree with 15 years' technical experience.
• BS Technical Related Degree with 10 years' technical experience
• MS Technical Related Degree with 7 years' technical experience

Experience:

Position requires a minimum of five (7) years' experience working with infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment. Position requires professional experience with more than one of the following areas:

Data Center Operations, Disaster Recover/Business Continuity Planning & Execution, Security & Compliance Management, Infrastructure Operational Policies & Procedures, and/or Technical Project Coordination. Fundamental understanding of UNIX Operating Systems (OS), Linux OS, Microsoft OS, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix, Networking, Routing, Firewalls, Security tools and/or scripting. (Associated certifications are preferred.)
