University of Rochester Integrated Family/Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled PMHNP to join our behavioral health team at Strong Internal Medicine (SIM). Part of the General Medicine Division at URMC, SIM’s purpose is to help its diverse patients live full and healthy lives—and the practice is equipped to do so. An NCQA-recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home, SIM’s highly team-based care model includes attending physicians, internal medicine residents, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, social workers, behavioral health providers, clinical pharmacists, registered dieticians, care managers, and administrative support. The PMHNP will play a crucial role in providing direct and consultative psychiatric mental health services to adult patients within our integrated primary care clinic. As an embedded member of our primary care team, you will collaborate with clinicians to identify high-risk patients with behavioral health and medical comorbidities, develop person-centered treatment plans, and ensure access to specialty psychiatric and substance use care as needed. You will also be part of the overall BH integration team at SIM, which is part of the Division of Collaborative Care in the Department of Psychiatry, and you will have access to a psychiatrist through that division for consultation and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and provide psychopharmacology support for adult patients.

  • Serve as a resource for primary care providers, offering consultative support and brief warm handoff evaluations throughout the day.

  • Educate primary care residents, nurses, and other providers on mental health disorders and psychotropic medications through formal in-services and education sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in NYS with ANCC Certification.

  • DEA license required.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a psych NP; integrated care experience preferred.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71-$67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
