Robert Half Insurance Referral Coordinator in Rochester, New York

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit industry for an Insurance Referral Coordinator in Rochester, New York. This role involves coordinating patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and resolving customer inquiries. As an Insurance Referral Coordinator, you will be expected to navigate complex healthcare systems efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists, diagnostic services, and other healthcare providers as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of patient referrals and ensure all relevant information is updated in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

• Utilize MEDENT, a medical management software, for processing and tracking patient referrals.

• Address and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner, providing excellent customer service at all times.

• Monitor patient accounts and take the necessary action based on the status of the account.

• Understand and apply medical terminology in the coordination of patient referrals and communication with healthcare providers.

• Ensure all customer credit applications are processed accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain a strong understanding of healthcare systems and navigate them effectively to serve the needs of the patients.

• Uphold the confidentiality and privacy of patient information in accordance with company policy and healthcare regulations.

• Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills in handling multiple tasks and managing patient records. Requirements • Experience in the non-profit sector would be advantageous

• Proficiency in using MEDENT software

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems

• Experience in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is essential

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively

• Knowledge of insurance referral processes is a plus

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
