We care for your career while caring for the community.Pension Plan Retirement Plan Advancement Opportunities Employee Discounts SUMMARYAs a Patient Services Technician II you put patients at ease while collecting specimens and ensure that all patient information is accurate and meets system compliance standards.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Unity Hospital | 1555 Long Pond Road Rochester, NYDEPARTMENT: Phlebotomy SCHEDULE: Nights | 10pm-6:30am w/ rotating weekends ATTRIBUTESCertificate in Phlebotomy preferred.Excellent communication and problem solving skills requiredBasic keyboard/data entry skills requiredRESPONSIBILITIES Data Entry & Reporting. Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to enter client information; manually confirm the identity of patients and document essential information to complete procurement, processing and testing of specimensSpecimen Collection. Execute venipuncture procedure including heel stick and finger stick techniques for the procurement of blood specimens; perform the essential functions necessary to maintain the integrity of the specimens for testing; train new employees or staff on phlebotomy proceduresPatient Care. Greet and assist patients to provide general information; communicate with patients for information exchange to ensure accuracy, when necessaryPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $19.50 - $22.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
