DePaul Financial Case Manager in Rochester, New York
Overview
The Financial Case Manager coordinates and monitors residential client accounts and supervises all aspects of the Rep Payee program, providing proper administration of funds for shelter, food, and clothing of participants.

Responsibilities
Provide assistance and expertise to case managers with financial applicants, recertification and resources problems.
Generate and record client allowances.
Record client payments and ensure that the proper endorsements are obtained.
Maintain client accounts receivable for the residential program. Monitor and work with the house personnel to collect balances.
Provide requested financial statements to the Controller (e.g., monthly accounts receivable trial balances).
Assist the residential program in procuring the necessary funding arrangements for consumers upon admission.
Work with residential programs in the process of transferring consumer funding at the time of discharge.
Serve as an information source for fundors, referring agencies, families and consumers.
Process SSI, SSD and food stamp applications.
Assist residential program with difficult or unresolved cases and problem solve with the Social Security Administration.
Resolve consumer citizenship issues in the residential program through the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Maintain residential spending accounts. Keep accurate ledger cards and supervise monthly reconciliation statements prepared by the Rep. Payee Assistant.
Provide quarterly reporting to the Quality Assurance Department.
Stay current with the SSI and SSD regulations for all programs.
Serve as a community liaison interacting with the police, clinics, hospitals, and department of social services to problem solve and to make referrals.
Act as the clients Representative Payee advocate at Social security Administration hearings and work closely with the Social Security Administration staff.
Work with the landlords and utility companies to manage the rep payee finances.
Perform other duties as necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human services or business administration, or an Associates degree plus two years experience in human services.
Experience: Must have a background working with landlord/tenant issues. SSI, SSD and food stamp program knowledge strongly desired. Computer knowledge especially with Excel is preferred. Must possess excellent problem solving skills and have an ability to work with community and departmental personnel.
Other: Must have own transportation and meet agency clean driving requirements
