Job Description:

Coordination and development of the annual operating budget for Highland Hospital. Analyzes monthly variances and provides high-level summary of significant variances to senior leadership

  • Budget: Coordination of the annual operating budget process for Hospital programs including:

  • Preparation of budget reports, training departmental personnel on the budget system, review of departmental submissions, and preparation of financial analyses for budget hearings.

  • Compile and review capital budget requests

  • Summarizing results of departmental business improvement plans, calculating high-level budget assumptions for vacancy/turnover, spending exposures, etc.

  • Work with Business Planning Manager on consolidation of departmental and institutional budgets into Hospital P&L format for various presentations to Hospital Board and Committees, as well as Senior Administration.

  • Spread of annual operating expense budget into monthly periods for upload into financial reporting system. Maintain the budget spread database for revenues and expenses, incorporating monthly budget amendments, which includes review of monthly budget and FTE modifications received from departments.

  • Reporting & Variance Analysis : Reviews actual to budget results on a monthly

  • basis and obtains and understands variances. Works with financial accounting group to make adjusting entries as appropriate. Works with departmental leaders and others within the organization to ensure monthly results are accurate and appropriate. Prepare detailed analysis of monthly salary variances to budget, adjusted for vacancy/turnover budget assumptions.

  • Application Administrator: Responsible for maintaining the financial budget system Axiom in collaboration with ISD, including ledger structure, chart of accounts, system based financial reports, user security and integration of systems

  • Salary Range: $70,000-$105,000 annually The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Finance/Accounting

  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a related field or relevant hospital accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
