Position Overview: The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for a broad range of tasks that ensure the Accelerators operations run smoothly and comply with relevant laws, financial controls, and internal policies/procedures. This role involves managing financial processes, overseeing administrative functions, and supporting human resource management to create an efficient and compliant organizational environment.

Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts and donations on a monthly basis; Process and manage payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable; Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis; Manage the Finance Committee and Policies & Procedures Committee; Monitor cash flow and adherence to the budget; Submit monthly invoices and reports for NYSERDA programs; Ensure compliance and filing of relevant tax, registration, licensing, and insurance documents; Build and manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems; Assist with workflow, expense tracking, and reporting for grants; Oversee human resources management and compliance; Maintain personnel files and other document archives; Perform benefits administration, assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, and serve as agency liaison to vendors; Oversee office supply procurement and resolve technology issues; Keep the Accelerators Executive Team informed about potential financial and legal issues and opportunities.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a background in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field, who can flexibly manage a broad range of responsibilities and enjoys creating an environment where his/her/their colleagues can do excellent work. This individual must demonstrate proficient use of financial and accounting software tools (QuickBooks Online, Google Sheets, etc.). Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, nonprofit financial management, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, budgets, journal entries, and coordinating financial audits is essential. Experience with benefits administration, human resource management, compliance, and grant management is also desired. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the capability to manage committees and collaborate with various stakeholders are crucial. The candidate should have excellent organizational skills, be flexible, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and take a proactive approach to managing tasks and challenges.
