MKS Instruments Inc Facilities Team Leader in Rochester, New York

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

MKS Instruments is seeking a Facilities Team Leader to join the team in Rochester NY. The Facilities Team Leader will contribute as a key member of the Facilities, EHS, and operations teams. In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. You will be the primary point of contact for the HVAC and mechanical systems, as well as the various building monitoring and management systems. You will report to the manager of facilities.

You will make an impact by:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility’s structure, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC

  • Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures

  • Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process

  • Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary

  • Works from blueprints, drawings, or rough sketches

Required Skills:

  • Requires experience in the maintenance trades, formal apprenticeship or on-the-job training

  • Strong leadership and communication skills and organizational experience

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Frequently moves objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds and occasionally moves objects (including non-motorized equipment) weighing 21 to 50 pounds

  • Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at and above shoulder level

  • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination

  • The have the ability to remain in a stationary position for 25% of work time

  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information

  • The ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

  • Regularly carrying and climbing ladders

  • Regularly manipulating and using power equipment

  • Regularly grasping and fine manipulation with hands

  • Regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy

  • Regularly standing

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually average

  • Travel Requirements: Up to 20% of travel may be required in the local area

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $36-38 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
