Precision Grinding & MFG Corp Entry Level Quality Control Technician in Rochester, New York

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Quality Control Technician. As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards before they reach our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include inspecting, testing, and documenting various aspects of the production process to maintain product integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on incoming raw materials, components, and finished products to identify any defects or deviations from specifications.

  • Perform precision measurements using various tools and equipment to ensure products meet dimensional and performance requirements.

  • Operate testing machinery and equipment to evaluate product performance, functionality, and reliability.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and other quality-related documentation.

  • Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve quality issues, recommending corrective actions when necessary.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and accurate quality assessments.

  • Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.

  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and calibration of quality control equipment.

  • Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

  • Communicate quality-related information and reports to supervisors and team members.

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations in the quality control area.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical certifications or coursework in quality control, engineering, or a related field is a plus.

  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary; however, any exposure to quality control practices or manufacturing environments will be advantageous.

  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and familiarity with testing equipment is desirable. Proficiency in using computers for data entry and record-keeping is preferred.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong observation skills and an eye for detail are essential to accurately identify defects and ensure product consistency.

  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills are needed to convey quality-related information to team members and managers.

  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team environment.

  • Analytical Thinking: A problem-solving mindset and the ability to perform basic data analysis are beneficial in identifying quality issues and suggesting improvements.

  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet inspection and testing deadlines.
