University of Rochester Employee Health - Strong Memorial Hospital - Nurse Practitioner in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Unique, challenging opportunity to provide Employee Health onboarding services as well as evaluation and treatment of workplace-related injuries and illness for healthcare workers. Become a member of a collaborative team that provides care based upon evidence-based practice and NYS Workers Compensation treatment guidelines.

Responsibilities include onboarding physical exams, treatment for blood borne pathogen exposures, work related contagion exposures, company requested evaluations, longitudinal treatment for work related injuries and illnesses: medication management, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, referrals for treatments-physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, referral to specialists and disability evaluations. Many opportunities for patients, employer and staff education. Work independently. Collaborate as needed with network-based physicians.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Independent judgement and critical thinking. An NP with 2 or more years of adult NP experience is preferred, new graduates will be considered. An NP orientation program is available for all new hires. Credentials: NYS NP licensure and AANP/ANCC national certification is required prior to start date.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71-67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
