Position Summary: The Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all residents, their guests, volunteers, St. John’s employees, to and from their appointments and/or events, safely, courteously and reliably. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections.

  • Maintain clean vehicles.

  • Assist passengers in and out of vehicles as needed.

  • Relay any information that assists dispatch with daily schedules.

  • Record times and mileages for all trips on a daily basis.

  • Attend scheduled staff meetings.

  • Some weekend and evening work may be required, may need to work other hours than normally assigned or after normal end shift, and/or may be assigned to another shift as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Graduate.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must meet DOT standards regarding drug abuse and alcohol misuse.

  • Maintain a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or C with Passenger endorsement and current DOT Card.

  • Wheelchair bus experience.
