Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and expand the national dual credit program, Project Fast Forward, which currently partners with 50+ high schools across the country to offer dual credit courses to approximately 300 students per year. Activities include overseeing 60+ sections of dual credit course offerings per year, planning and conducting summer professional development to high school teachers and counselors, and implementing new models for offering dual credit courses such as online/virtual modes of instruction.

  • Work collaboratively with administration and faculty/staff leaders internally and externally involved in planning and carrying out Project Fast Forward and other outreach activities each year.

  • Work with the NRSC, and Outreach Consortium and Academic Affairs teams to evaluate the impact of activities and resources.

  • Independently plan and travel for the purpose of recruiting new PFF partner schools and promoting NRSC, Outreach Consortium and Academic Affairs programs/activities. Assist RIT/NTID faculty with travel arrangements as needed.

  • Negotiate PFF memos of understanding with high school administration and outreach contracts as well as manage vendor relationships.

  • Provide program support for Outreach Consortium, NRSC and Admissions programs/activities as assigned.

  • Initiate new projects and activities including but not limited to: ASL courses for non-signing students, virtual trainings, awards programs and the like.

Required Qualifications:

At least 3 years experience teaching/training at the pre-college/college level or experience in outreach, recruiting, or event planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree is preferred. Working with pre-college population strongly preferred.

Job Summary:

This position will have responsibility for working with the Director of Project Fast Forward to lead and expand NTID’s dual credit program, Project Fast Forward (PFF) for secondary teachers of the deaf, and deaf and hard of hearing students across the country. This position will work within the Division of Admissions and STEM Outreach (consisting of four department: PFF, Admissions, Pre-College Outreach and the NTID Regional STEM Center).

This position will work with three departments/programs:

  • The NTID Regional STEM Center (NRSC) works in partnership with the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, to expand the geographic reach of activities and services supported by NTID, with the goal of improving access to postsecondary STEM education and employment for secondary deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

  • The Outreach Consortium is responsible for the establishment and operation of educational activities designed to build up NTID’s pipeline of prospective students and to share NTID resources externally. The primary purpose of this Consortium is to offer various training/educational programs, workshops, and technical assistance to address the educational, transition and professional development needs of deaf and hard of hearing students and people.

  • The faculty of NTID’s Academic Affairs are heavily involved in PFF’s initiatives and work, including its online and in-person summer trainings and subsequent dual credit course offerings throughout the year.
