SUMMARY: Assists Supervisor in the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department to include scheduling and training of staff. Responsible for decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical sets, instruments, and equipment, in accordance with verbal and written policies and procedures.

ATTRIBUTES
  • One (1) year of previous experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and hold and maintain one of the following credentials:
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential
  • Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician credential
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Processing. Process surgical instrumentation and durable medical equipment for reuse, including decontamination, inspection, preparation, packaging and sterilization; understand and comply with all universal precautions and procedures; assemble instrument sets, diagnostic and treatment trays for user departments; issue and deliver supplies and linen
  • Transportation. Move materials (regulated medical waste, trash, soiled linen, soiled patient equipment and recyclable) throughout complex, following specific time tables
  • Record Management. Maintain records, inventories, use of materials, placement of equipment (including surgical case carts), within each area serviced
PAY SUMMARY:
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: H - Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $18.75 - $25.00
