Robert Half Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist I (Tier II) in Rochester, New York

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist I (Tier II) in ROCHESTER, New York, 14623-4292, United States. This role involves mitigating risk through resolution of clients' past due balances, ensuring quality service delivery, and supporting all branches with a high degree of quality service. You will work in a hybrid environment, splitting your time between the office and home.

Responsibilities:

• Resolve past due balances and meet daily collections and call goals through inbound and initiated calls.

• Evaluate and make decisions on at-risk accounts based on established policies and procedures to mitigate risk.

• Research EFT transactions returned from the bank to recollect the funds owed by the client.

• Escalate high-risk accounts to the internal collection agency as needed.

• Escalate client issues to appropriate departments to ensure timely collection on accounts.

• Maintain daily call requirements based on the forecast provided to ensure standards are met.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action. Requirements • Proficiency in accounts receivable (AR) processes and procedures.

• Familiarity with collection processes and policy implementation.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct research analysis in an accounting context.

• Experience in handling funds and implementing mitigation strategies.

• Excellent quality service skills, with an emphasis on client satisfaction.

• Knowledge of electronic funds transfer (EFT) processes.

• Proven ability to adhere to and uphold high-quality standards.

• Demonstrated experience in policy development and enforcement.

• Ability to understand and navigate complex accounting procedures.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other related tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

• Relevant professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
