Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Rochester, New York

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Accountant in the manufacturing industry, located in Rochester, New York. The role involves overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in vendor payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and timely processing of accounts payable invoices, adhering to company policies and procedures.

• Reconciling vendor statements and promptly resolving any discrepancies.

• Verifying and obtaining proper approvals for invoices prior to processing payments.

• Maintaining accurate records of accounts payable transactions and ensuring proper documentation is maintained for audit purposes.

• Assisting in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.

• Communicating effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve any payment issues or inquiries.

• Assisting in implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.

• Staying updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices related to accounts payable processes.

• Utilizing accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel for daily tasks.

• Performing check processing and data entry tasks.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Check Processing

• Strong Data Entry abilities

• Ability to resolve Discrepancies in accounts

• Relevant experience in the manufacturing industry

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented and able to multitask

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
