Responsibilities

The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this position. Shown are duties that are representative of the work to be performed. These duties may occur during irregular work hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays, which are subject to change due to changes in air carrier operating hours or as airport management determines necessary.

• Perform duties/training and is primarily responsible for airport compliance with all of the requirements of FAR Part 139 inclusive of issuing Notices to Airman (NOTAMs), Field Condition Reports (Ficons), airfield safety and inspection requirements;

• This position is responsible for all duties, training and record keeping associated with Airport Badging per requirements found in TSA Part 1542 as well as other security related duties;

• This position assists airport operations in maintenance activities at the airport, which primarily includes acting as a snow removal coordinator. Snow removal coordinator activities will need to be coordinated with the Operations Supervisor to ensure proper 24/7 coverage;

• Snow removal coordinator duties include providing oversite of snow removal activities to ensure the safest possible operating environment for aircraft utilizing RST;

• Responsible for implementation and oversite of electronic maintenance tracking software for all airport-maintained assets;

• Ability to work independently, or in coordination with other Operations Department Staff and prioritize duties;

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency incidents involving aircraft operating at Rochester International Airport;

• Operates a radio for communication with the control tower and safely operates a variety of equipment on the airfield;

• Carries and operates a two-way company radio for company communications;

• Performs snow and ice removal duties with the ability to make independent decisions when necessary;

• Drives aircraft rescue and firefighting equipment and operates fire extinguishment equipment;

• Operates a wide variety of equipment to include but not limited to mowers, tractors, aircraft rescue/firefighting equipment, heavy trucks, heavy brooms, front loaders, and other snow removal equipment;

• Participates in regular aircraft rescue and firefighting training as required and responds to simulated and actual emergencies.

Qualifications

Training and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in airport management, aviation administration, or a closely related field.

• Prefer prior airport operations experience

Special Requirements:

• Work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required

Licenses and Certificates:

• Minnesota Class “D” driver’s license at the time of hire, with the ability to obtain a Class “B” license.

• 14 CFR Part 139 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting certification (training to be provided by RST)

• Must be able to pass a criminal history check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearance for working at an airport

• Must be able to show proof of U.S. Citizenship or possess a valid U.S. Government issued work visa
