Adecco is seeking a motivated Tanning Technician to join our team in Rochester Hills. As a Tanning Technician, you will play a crucial role in our leather production process, specifically focusing on running wet end equipment to fulfill crust sample orders, development trials, and color matches.
Job Summary
The candidate will work as a Tanning Technician at Lear's Rochester Hills Plant. They will be responsible for operating wet end equipment to process leather samples and conduct development trials. Tasks include inspecting incoming and outgoing leather materials, conducting chemical screenings and trials based on provided recipes/formulations, maintaining inventory of chemicals and crusts, ordering supplies as needed, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of their work area. The job is for someone who handles machines that treat leather. They check leather pieces coming in and out of the factory, test chemicals on them using specific recipes provided by the company while keeping track of supplies and making sure their workspace is clean.
Skill Requirements
Must-Have Requirements:
Inspection/Quality Control experience, preferably with leather
Prior experience in mixing of chemicals
Ability to follow recipes , formulations , verbal instructions.
Basic Excel and Word skills.
Ability to perform color evaluation against standards.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in leather processing
Experience with BPCS transactions
Skill Education
Wet blue: Refers to a type of semi-finished leather that has been tanned but not yet dyed or finished.
Crust leather: Leather that has been tanned but not yet finished or dyed.
Recipes: Specific combinations of chemicals used in treating or finishing leather.
Formulations: Detailed instructions on how to mix chemicals for processing tasks.
Excel: A spreadsheet software used for data organization and analysis.
Word: A word processing software used for creating documents.
Color evaluation: Assessing the color quality of treated materials against set standards.

Requirements
-HS Diploma/GED
-Be able to pass a color discrimination test
-Inventory experience
Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
