System One Traveling Field Surveyor in Roanoke, Virginia

3-4 Party Chiefs w/ VDOT experience needed in Virginia - Truck included

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reduction of field data, land record research, preparation of boundary surveys, topographic maps, route surveys to state and federal standards, utility inventory surveys, and roadway right of way plans.

  • Successful candidates will be responsible for developing scopes, budgets and schedules for projects

  • Candidate must be able to perform technical aspects of specified deliverables and/or lead teams of technical staff in creating deliverables consistent with scope, budget, and schedule

  • Excellent communication and writing skills, along with proficiencies with Microsoft Office, Microstation with Geopak or Openroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Knowledge of Trimble hardware, Survey Controller and Trimble Business Center is a plus

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of reading highway plans, plats and deeds.

  • Possess the ability to create a 3D surface using MicroStation

  • Qualified candidates will have a BA/BS and five years of experience. All levels will be considered.

  • VDOT experience or Licenses in other surrounding states are a huge plus.
