Forklift Operator

PeopleReady of Riviera Beach, FL is now hiring Forklift Operators! HeavyLift Services at the Port of Palm Beach is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within the Port's facilities. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods through our operations.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15 / hour

What you'll be doing as a Forklift Operator :

• Operate a forklift to load and unload materials and deliveries.

• Move goods to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks.

• Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using the appropriate equipment.

• Ensure goods are stored in a safe and orderly manner.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Perform routine maintenance on forklifts and other equipment as needed.

• Inspect forklifts and perform basic troubleshooting tasks before and after each shift.

• Report any forklift malfunctions or damage to the supervisor.

Job requirements:

• Valid identification (ID) verifying eligibility to work in the United States.

• Valid forklift operator license/certification.

• Proven work experience as a forklift operator, preferably in a port or warehouse setting.

• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and maneuver them in a safe manner.

• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.

• Clean background check with no serious infractions.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Additional certifications in warehouse operations or safety procedures.

• Experience with inventory control software.

• Background check and drug screening required.
