What Learning Development and Delivery contributes to Cardinal Health

Learning develops, deploys and evaluates learning solutions to support employee development and build organizational capability in alignment to business strategies. This function analyzes learning needs and develops training curricula, technologies, and programs. This function also manages trainings provided by third-parties and partners with leaders and subject matter experts within functions and business units to deliver learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Site Leader to develop site staff training plans to include number of classes scheduled to meet hiring volumes and employee to trainer ratio per site.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for site leader as it relates to training program requests and cross training and upskilling opportunities across site and network.

  • Partner with Learning COE on training program deployment and to close content gaps.

  • Provide feedback in the selection process for site trainers or individuals with a training designation and provide input to site leader for performance evaluations.

  • Ensure all site trainers attend Train the Trainer Sessions and become certified to teach programs; Provides feedback during “Teach Back” sessions and on the trainer’s ability to deliver programs on site. Give final signoff on trainer certification.

  • Develop trainer division of duties to determine what is in scope for site-based training roles (Training first, business second).

  • Ensure that site trainers log training completions in the Learning Management System (mySpark) and provides monthly follow up to the Site Leader on training program metrics provided by the Learning COE as well as training completions.

  • Partner with the Learning COE on the development of professional development (training skill builders) offered by the Learning COE. Ensure site trainer participation in professional development programs and in the Learning Community of Practice.

  • Support the development and education of SMEs and other Peer Trainers by ensuring they attend development programs; monitor and evaluate peer to peer trainers.

  • Work with Operational Excellence Black Belt to ensure trainers are using the current SOS documents during training.

  • Work with the site leader to standardize the performance management process across the organization. Plant Goals and KPI´s targets, ADP´s and individual goals.

  • Monitor and ensure people managers are leveraging and completing the OTTT sessions every quarter.

  • Work with the site leader to develop and deliver the necessary tools to people managers for effective performance management – setting expectations, delivering feedback, recognition, coaching and managing poor performance.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills; May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise.

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects

  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures

  • Work on complex projects of large scope

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience preferred

  • 4-6 years business experience preferred

  • Experience in project work preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products preferred

Anticipated salary range: $65,500 - $98,175

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
