Cogent’s Kansas City location has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivatedControl Systems Engineerwith strong technical, communication, and decision-making skills. This is a good fit for an Engineer that wants to be involved in all aspects of a project from conceptual design through system development to final commissioning.

Numerous system integration opportunities serving the Industrial, Power & Energy, Manufacturing, Commercial, Water and Wastewater Industries. As Control Systems Engineer you will be a key link in the development and delivery of control systems and technical services to Cogent customers. Responsible for multiple aspects of the design, development, start-up, troubleshooting and service of the various equipment control systems offered by the Cogent family of companies. Successful candidates will have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment to build long term customer relationships.

Position Responsibilities Include:

• System design and development, start up and commissioning

• PLC / HMI / MMI Control System Programming

• Development of SCADA Systems and Communications Networks

• Develop Web Based Interface and Historian Applications

• Instrumentation and Process Control Design and Integration

• Electrical, Motor Controls and Variable Frequency Drives

• Custom Control Panel Design

• Interconnect Drawing Creation

• Project Management

• Prepare System Specifications

• Technical Sales Assistance & Scope of Supply Development

Position Requirements

Skills / Requirements:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Technical Degree with equivalent experience

• Ability to Complete Control System Design and Development from Conception Through Commissioning

• Strong Computer Science & Technology Skills

• Strong Knowledge and Experience in:

• PLC / HMI / MMI Programming

• Data Logging, Database and Historian Technologies

• Industrial Networking and Communications Protocols

• Wireless Communication Technologies and Computer Networking

• AutoCAD

• Office Based Software

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, overtime and occasionally out of town with up to 25% overnight travel
