Amergis Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing needed in Riverside area Riverside, California
About Us: At Amergis Educational Services, we are dedicated to providing exceptional educational opportunities for all students. We are currently seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing to join our team.
Job Description: As a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing, you will teach deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils in a classroom setting. You will instruct in academic subjects of the regular curriculum or an adapted curriculum to meet the needs of our student population.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
Education Specialist Instruction Credential or equivalent, with an authorization in Visual Impairments
CTEL Certification or EL equivalent such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE
Valid California Driver’s License may be required
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
Knowledge in Sign Language and use of amplification devices for the deaf and hard-of-hearing
Experience with deaf and hard-of-hearing students preferred
ASL proficiency exam or Certification may be required per state, contract, or district
Current CPR certification if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
