Skanska Senior Engineer in Riverside, California

General Position Summary

The Senior Engineer is involved with and manages the design of municipal infrastructure, highways, railways, transit systems, airports, harbors, bridges, tunnels, building, water supply and sewage treatment facilities. The position reports to the Chief Engineer. The Senior Engineer must be a team player and have experience in heavy civil construction.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and Health

  • Management Program

  • Independently perform highly complex professional assignments demanding the application of specialized engineering principles

  • Work with project staff in other disciplines to sort through project issues

  • Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, cost and quality control and project objectives

  • Represent respective projects at project and client meetings

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

  • Sign and seal engineering design packages with the knowledge of the Chief Engineer

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong skills in structural and/or geotechnical engineering for infrastructural projects

  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Plaxis, CivilTech, STAAD Pro, Microsoft Word,

  • Excel and Adobe

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Functions effectively as part of a team

  • Dependability

  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times

  • Ability to understand and follow directions

  • Good time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to quickly learn and run new software and updated programs

  • Possess innovative ideas

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Possess professional Engineering license in the state of regional office

  • 7 – 10 years of experience in the design of permanent and or temporary engineering activities in all phases
