Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for planning, supervising, and evaluating the care of patients to ensure comprehensive and continuous care for each patient/family in the unit and shift of responsibility. This involves management and responsibilities for diverse categories of personnel for patient care. The Nurse Manager position requires in-depth productivity management, knowledge of management principles, communication, teaching/learning principles, nursing practice, and the ability to apply nursing theories.

• You will apply nursing innovation methods, evidence based practice and technology in collaboration with the director and as appropriate for unit of responsibility.

• You will review daily productivity reports and makes appropriate adjustments to remain on target and make cost efficient, effective and safe staffing decisions.

• You will evaluate personnel, assess environment, and determine priorities for care in order to plan, implement, and evaluate outcomes of care.

• You will collaboratively work with the service director to implement unit goals and objectives in congruence with the service goals mission and vision.

What qualifications you will need:

• Valid and current California RN license

• Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; national RN Certification preferred

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Nursing required or enrolled; Masters Degree preferred

• Minimum two years in an acute care management position

It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County.
