Robert Half Plant Controller in Ringwood, Illinois

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller based in Ringwood, Illinois. This role falls within the manufacturing industry, where the selected candidate will be responsible for providing financial statements, controlling and alerting on discrepancies, and playing an active role in several areas.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage plant conversion costs, including monitoring and controlling conversion cost spending to ensure a full understanding of the cost to operate the site.

• Review and understand Weighted Average Costs and Standard Costs for the site, completing cost estimate calculations and analyzing actual product cost variances.

• Ensure accurate inventory valuation by reviewing and approving finished goods product Standard Cost.

• Control and detect any variances in financial statements in regards to budget, reporting any necessary corrective manual entries.

• Monitor and control fixed asset project expenses in close coordination with plant leadership.

• Manage month-end close process within SAP, providing timely communication of results to the BU leaders.

• Coordinate the plant budget process, preparing cost data for the next year and compiling the annual conversion cost budget.

• Communicate site financial results, providing a monthly financial report.

• Mentor local manufacturing staff on accounting principles, internal controls, financial statement analysis, cost analysis, and inventory control.

• Review and monitor direct labor spending and communicate identified issues timely.

• Monitor spare parts and inventory, manage (analyze, adjust, validate) inventory provisions based on identified issues. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Proven expertise in Auditing

• Strong knowledge of Budget Processes

• Proficiency in SAP is essential

• Experience with Cost Accounting is required

• Knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting is a must

• Familiarity with Standard Cost Accounting is needed

• Able to work in a team setting and independently

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
