Franklin Pierce University Executive Assistant to the President in Rindge, New Hampshire

Franklin Pierce University (FPU) in Rindge, NH, provides the beauty and safety of a rural campus with ready access to outdoors activities, the arts, excellent educational options for families, yet is close to major cities like Boston and New York City. FPU boasts strengths such as a welcoming and inclusive community, growing health professions-related undergraduate and graduate programs on campus, online, and at four Centers across the U.S., a personalized approach to learning, and reputation as a leader in Division II athletics. Working at FPU is more than a job; it is a lifestyle and opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people.

FPU seeks an experienced professional to serve as Executive Assistant to the President (EAP). The EAP role is integral, highly visible, and one that directly supports the President and President’s Office in all functions to enhance the leadership, administrative, and operational activities of the University. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to management of a dynamic schedule of meetings, events, and travel; direct support of Board meeting activities; engagement with external stakeholders; refinement and development of policies and processes related to the President’s office; handling of internal and external communications at the highest level through various modalities.

The EAP must be able to manage highly confidential information, assure attention to detail in all areas, demonstrate decorum commensurate with the status of the President’s Office, provide creative and tactical input and support as needed, and utilize strong emotional intelligence when working with and within a complex organization. Superior interpersonal skills, adeptness at technology-based office systems and components, and excellent organizational capabilities are crucial. In addition to front desk coverage and other general administrative duties, the EAB will have the opportunity to partner with the President and others on strategic initiatives and multi-year planning to strengthen the University.

A member of the President’s Senior Staff, the EAB must have an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree (a graduate degree is also desirable) with significant experience in a fast-paced executive-type administrative environment, ideally in higher education or another industry which has a focus on detail and customer service. The EAP will start alongside a new FPU President this summer, and therefore will have the opportunity to create, together, a strong, efficient, and energetic President’s Office based on an existing foundation of protocols, proven processes, and respect for tradition.

Relocation is available, and while this is an on-campus position, a flexible work schedule is possible. FPU offers competitive wages and benefits packages including medical, dental and vision coverage, 403(b) retirement plan through TIAA, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, educational benefits (for employee and qualifying dependents), pet insurance accident insurance, critical illness coverage, travel discounts, 160 hours of paid time off (PTO), with additional paid sick time for your well-being, and paid holidays. Candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, and contact information for three references (references will not be checked until the finalist stage of the search). FPU is committed to enhancing the diversity of its community in many realms and is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO). Find out more at www.franklinpierce.edu.
