IT Administrator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:

As the IT Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of computer hardware and software, including installation, troubleshooting, and support. Your primary focus will be assisting users with various IT-related issues such as word-processing, email, printing, and operating systems. You will also play a key role in maintaining our Help Desk services, providing support in person, over the phone, and through electronic communication channels. You will report to and communicate with the IT and ERP Manager on daily tasks, production-effecting issues, and purchase requests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Set up equipment for employee use; ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems or appropriate software.
  • Provide technical assistance and support by investigating and resolving problems throughreading technical manuals, conferring with users and conducting computer diagnostics.
  • Refer major hardware/software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
  • Backup production data and drives.
  • Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
  • Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for users or user groups, both in person and remotely, via telephone or electronic communication.
  • Perform routine maintenance or standard repairs to networking components or equipment.
  • Maintain disk storage for backups.
  • Confer with network users to resolve system problems.
  • Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment (such as private branch exchange, voicemail system and telecom system).
  • Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
  • Maintain data and network security procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of user support requests and actions taken in the Help Desk system.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical problems by prioritizing and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree in computer-related discipline required; additional education, certification and/or experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility or equivalent is a plus.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Experience with Active Directory, SQL, Microsoft Domain environments, Office 365 Admin, Desktop/laptop/server hardware, network hardware and software ie. Routers, switches, structured cabling.
