Senior UX Designer

Job Description

Overview

CoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP) is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. Included in the S&P 500 Index and the NASDAQ 100, CoStar Group is on a mission to digitize the world’s real estate, empowering all people to discover properties, insights and connections that improve their businesses and lives.

We have been living and breathing the world of real estate information and online marketplaces for over 35 years, giving us the perspective to create truly unique and valuable offerings to our customers. We’ve continually refined, transformed and perfected our approach to our business, creating a language that has become standard in our industry, for our customers, and even our competitors. We continue that effort today and are always working to improve and drive innovation. This is how we deliver for our customers, our employees, and investors. By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate.

About the Role

CoStar Group’s growing User Experience team makes a direct impact on people, creating products for our 60 million users. We are looking for a Senior UX Designer with strength in visual design and research skills to join our team and support our commitment to user-focused product development. In this role, you will partner closely with various product managers and business analysts in charge of discrete product capabilities as well as broad, cross-product initiatives. The UX Designer supporting a product team is a passionate customer advocate. You genuinely care about how the products you work on support our users and can and contribute to the success of a user-centered design practice within our organization.

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

About You

Simply put, you love putting structure around difficult problems. You thrive at being hands-on and immersive. You look for opportunities to improve the way things work, and you have the drive to challenge the enterprise software status quo. You are also experienced working with product teams and know how to clarify requirements and work towards consensus and compromise. You're a proactive self-starter. If you see a problem, you look for ways to fix it instead of waiting for others to fix it for you. You are looking to shape the experience of the users of our software - to make things better for the user’s sake, not just for design’s sake.

Share Your Work, Share Your Process

We want to see sample projects and past work that reveals your passion for solving complex problems, meets the needs of the user and supports clearly identified business objectives. A portfolio is required.

Responsibilities

  • Produce designs with input from your product team to achieve the desired customer experience, including user flows, high-fidelity wireframes, detailed mockups, and interactive prototypes

  • Act as the user-advocate in cross-functional teams with product, architects and engineering

  • Communicate your design process and recommendations effectively to C-Suite level stakeholders and below across the organization

  • Create intuitive products that elevate the user experience in delightful ways using best practices, current web trends, and user research

  • Collaborate with product managers, executives, and other stakeholders to incorporate specific design requirements, visual treatment, and content structure

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not for profit university or college

  • 5+ years relevant design experience, working with a product team

  • Experience working on the design and creation of Enterprise Applications

  • Strong communication skills (delivering to both business and technical partners)

  • Strong proficiency in sketching, prototyping, articulating design decisions, and processing stakeholder feedback

  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, and other Adobe Creative Suite products

  • A portfolio of well-designed, user-centered projects

  • Track record of commitment to prior employers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with survey and analytics tools (think Pendo, SurveyMonkey, GA) is beneficial

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a PLUS
