TEKsystems Program Manager in Richmond, Virginia

  • ONSITE in Richmond, VA 5 days per week

  • PMP and CSM or ACP are REQUIRED

Description:

Our client will be seeking a very experienced, assertive, Project Manager to lead a large scale, high-profile, high-risk multi-year modernization project. This endeavor will entail rewriting 10+ million lines of mainframe application code, and will move to .NET frameworks, which in itself is a massive project. This, coupled with additional modernization efforts such Azure cloud migration, data/database modernization, Power Platform Development, and more-- make this role very multi-faceted.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex modernization projects, holding PMP and ACP certifications, and possessing several years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Work with client's chosen technology vendor and IT Program Manager to develop and execute detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budget for multiple scrum teams. Define project deliverables and milestones to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks. Implement mitigation strategies to address potential issues and ensure project stability.

  • Stakeholder Management: Must have the ability to balance significant financial, legal and social risks with the prospects of generating significant value across a large number of stakeholders, citizens and employees.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional scrum teams. Delegate tasks, track progress, and ensure team members are trained, and aligned with project goals. Work with vendor and staff to ensure client can properly manage and maintain the new system after deployment. This includes IT and business staff training.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to organizational policies and industry best practices.

  • Database conversion and data clean up: Ensure the data clean up and data conversion are 100% accurate

  • Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project expenses, manage budgets, and allocate resources efficiently to maximize project outcomes. Plan for regular monthly financial reporting

  • Compliance: Ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and policies.

    Qualifications:

  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) and ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) certifications are mandatory.

  • Experience: A minimum of15 years of experience in project management, specifically with high-profile and high-risk, multi-million dollar projects. Must be solid in vendor management. Must have experience working with all aspect of IT including moving from a data center to Azure Cloud for a high-volume transaction system that has an internal UI and a website/customer UI.

    • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficiency in project management tools and software including MS ADO.

    • Excellent oversight of multiple fast paced scrum teams
