Amentum Maintenance Scheduler in Richmond, Virginia

Job Summary: This position directly oversees the development of the weekly and monthly work schedules and supports the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team with developing/updating the daily work schedule through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage the maintenance schedule through the CMMS, ensuring that all tasks are appropriately sequenced and allocated to available resources.

  • Consider factors such as equipment availability, production schedules, and operational constraints when assigning maintenance activities.

  • Expedite scheduling of safety-related work.

  • Coordinate with the O&M team to understand the priorities and constraints for scheduling maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborate with the O&M team to assign maintenance activities to available technicians based on their skill sets, availability, and workload distribution. Use 100% of resource availability when creating schedules.

  • Communicate the schedule to maintenance technicians and provide necessary instructions and documentation to ensure smooth execution of tasks.

  • Monitor progress of work orders, update statuses, and address any issues or delays that may arise during the execution.

  • Coordinate with the O&M team to ensure that maintenance activities are scheduled in a way that minimizes disruptions to production.

  • Allocate materials to jobs on the weekly schedule.

  • Facilitate weekly scheduling meeting and attend other meetings as required.

  • Coordinate availability of facilities assets for maintenance and repair work.

  • Review and update long-range event calendars.

  • Ensure timely completion of work and compliance with safety standards.

  • Track work order performance metrics and report on results.

  • Provide backup support for Planning Analyst position. This includes updating preventive maintenance records, job plans, and asset criticalities in the CMMS; analyzing data in Power BI; managing change control requests; and planning of work order tasks to include defining of parts/materials and crafts/skills.

  • Support other facilities programs and initiatives as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience with Associates degree; 0-2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in similar facility maintenance / operations.

  • Knowledge of similar facility operations.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Requires the ability to interact with client, contractors, and employees in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

  • Ability to think on feet, solve problems, and make changes as needed.

  • Ability to use project management applications and other resource scheduling applications.

  • Experience utilizing a CMMS and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Must be willing to work outside regular working hours when required, including holidays and weekends.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

  • May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles

Some Physical/Special Requirements Include:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or formal training from facilities maintenance organizations such as IFMA, AFE, or BOMA.

  • Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment.

  • Experience utilizing CMMS - Maximo Application Suite.

  • Ability to write processes and procedures related to facility maintenance work.

  • Practical experience with continuous improvement techniques.

  • Preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
