Actalent Lab Technician in Richmond, Virginia

Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

• Operation and maintenance of the Screening Instrument and initial review of test results for donor specimens and QC samples. • Testing performed with refractometers and pH meters. • Knowledge of screening and specimen validity test methods: EIA, CEDIA, ELISA, refractometers, and pH meter. • Troubleshoot issues with screening instruments. • Adherence to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information. • Adherence to all established guidelines outlined in Alere’s Employee Handbook.

Hard Skills

  • Operation and maintenance of screening instruments

  • Testing with refractometers and pH meters

  • Knowledge of EIA, CEDIA, ELISA methods

  • Troubleshooting screening instruments

  • Adherence to security and confidentiality procedures

Soft Skills

  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds

  • Full body movement capability

  • Corrected vision and hearing to meet norms

  • Math and reasoning ability

  • Stress management

  • Reading and comprehension of SOP and guidelines

  • Effective communication with employees and supervisors

  • Ability to provide operational recommendations

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Richmond, Virginia.

Work Environment

The position is Tuesday - Saturday, 3pm - 11:30pm. May involve potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials.
