ABOUT THE ROLE

The Geospatial Product Advisor will act as a consultant and subject matter expert for our geospatial solutions. In this position, you will work closely with our Sales and Content teams in helping to refine and improve our solutions directly through focus groups, workshops, and other client-facing engagements. You will solve complex geospatial problems reported by our clients, explain the benefits and use cases for our solutions, and improve our products by gathering product feedback and data modifications. This role will require an educational and collaborative personality, along with a significant amount of travel to client locations.

When not on travel, the selected candidate will be expected to report to our Richmond, VA office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in partnership with the Sales and Content teams as the key technical resource for our geospatial solutions in client-facing engagements.

  • Gather feedback and capture data enhancements provided by clients and then communicate them to GIS analysts and content editors.

  • Prepare and configure geospatial data and web services to support product demonstrations and data evaluations.

  • Track customer-reported issues in a JIRA ticketing system; debug data as needed.

  • Develop reports and dashboards on both quality and patterns in our geospatial data.

  • Automate solutions to efficiently visualize our solutions and communicate data fixes quickly.

  • Educate customers on our data schemas, coverage, sources (metadata) and consult on best practices for interpretation and use of our data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or other related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in a GIS capacity, preferably within the real estate environment.

  • Previous experience as a geospatial consultant or sales engineer with spatial data expertise.

  • Experience editing and analyzing spatial data and translating client requirements into appropriate GIS reports, web applications, and thematic maps.

  • Experience with ArcGIS and ESRI (Online, Pro, and Enterprise).

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare and present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing spatial data ETL scripts and tools using Python, FME, or other scripting languages.

  • SQL query familiarity, to include the ability to write queries.

  • Experience using MapInfo, Alteryx, and PowerBi.

  • Provides good customer service, is goal oriented, self-motivated, and has excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
