Electrical & Instrument Engineer

KBR is looking for an Electrical Engineer - Instrumentation and Controls responsible for study, design, specification and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing etc. Under direct supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for study, design, specification, and services related to electrical systems including power generation, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communication systems, cathodic protection, grounding, lightning protection, heat tracing, etc.

  • Responsible for design, specification, selection and services relating to instrumentation and control systems including basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, valves, etc.

  • Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems

  • 1-3 years of professional working experience

  • The candidate must have a complete understanding of instrumentation and control system design

  • The candidate must have a complete understanding of electrical system design; Have good understanding and knowledge of industry codes and standards (NFPA/NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, and ASI)
