Job Summary and Qualifications
In collaboration with the Patient Logistics Center (PLC) Assistant Vice President, the PLC Operations Director is responsible for effectively leading all aspects of the PLC operations, including the design and implementation of new programs, processes, and functions. This position will lead all hiring of the PLC staff, have direct reporting authority for the PLC Clinical Manager, and is responsible for the development of the team including all training. The Operations Director will assist in leading the PLC strategy across the Divisions by collaborating with Division and hospital leadership to drive strategic alignment which results in enhanced clinical outcomes for our patients and increased growth through the center into HCA. This position provides support to the PLC AVP and at times serving as a primary customer lead to key Division and hospital leaders, as well as taking lead on requested Division wide initiatives.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Serves as primary point of contact with AVP of the PLC in leading day to day operations; including strategic partnerships/affiliations, vendor management and enterprise contracting
Leads all PLC operations including oversight of clinical processes, development, hiring, and training, as well as analytics support to Corporate/Division/hospital leadership· Analyzes all aspects of transfer and patient intake processes for potential improvement opportunities within both Patient Logistics operations and hospital operations. Relays these identified opportunities to the Patient Logistics AVP and through collaboration with facility leaders designs processes, systems, procedures, and operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Works with Division and hospital management, departmental, interdepartmental staff, and physicians in identifying any issues or barriers to optimal patient care and growth. Works through these issues in alignment with leadership and in collaboration with the AVP.
Improves/maintains the delivery of quality service through effective environmental, qualitative and technical monitoring programs to build greater customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention. Identifies trends and innovative measures which can be leveraged to drive results
Establishes realistic, but challenging expectations, measurable objectives and goals by designing and managing the structure and processes necessary for efficient operations, achievement of clinical performance and projected growth· In collaboration with thePLC Assistant Vice President, develops and implements PLC standards for general administrative/operations, policies and procedures, productivity/staffing and training which are in alignment with Corporate Patient Logistics direction
Assists in the development of the annual Corporate PLCs strategic plan, presenting portions when appropriate
Maintains compliance with legal and ethics and compliance standards across the team
Strategically resolves problems within our internal processes to better address the needs of all customers
Develops and recommends technological enhancements and/or replacements to support Patient Logistics operations
Promotes, educates, and holds employees responsible for providing excellent service to all customers, including patients, physicians, employees and leadership
Strategy support and operational process design & implementation for PLC services across the organization in the areas of, Transfer Center, Centralized Patient Placement, Behavioral Health Services, and the Transport Coordination Center (ambulance dispatch & billing services)
Provides recommendations on human resource policies which affect the PLC staff
Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have a proven track record of success in creating and executing operational and clinical growth strategies in leading a department
Participative management style and an ability to work in a matrix environment
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including but not limited to Corporate/Division leadership, hospital leadership, staff from information technology and clinical backgrounds, physicians, and external vendors
Must be independent, driven, self-motivated, and passionate with an exceptional work ethic, executive presence, integrity and presentation skills, both oral and written
Demonstrate leadership competency in customer needs and expectations, human resource management, financial outcomes, strategic vision and execution, marketing initiatives, and continuous improvement skills
Ability to work well under pressure on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects

Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
Solid level of strategic acumen, with strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems in a timely basis

Strong administrative, management and personnel organizational skills
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Master’s degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred
EXPERIENCE
Prior management/supervisory experience in a healthcare related field required
Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience (required), 7 years preferred. Critical Care or Emergency Department experience preferred
Must have held leadership positions (reflecting increasing levels of responsibility) in roles where building and leveraging key relationships was a responsibility as well as driving a strategic initiative
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
- RN License required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS : Requires prolonged sitting, bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriately. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 20 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Some travel required
