Is responsible for daily operations and activities, long-range planning and management of the Habilitation Therapies Department and coordination and implementation of therapeutic programming. The Habilitation Therapies Director participates in the development of facility policies, procedures and goals related to the Division. The Director works under limited supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Habilitation Therapies Department is normally comprised of the following units: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech and Audiology, and the Wheelchair Shop. The Director serves as a clinical resource/expert in the therapies represented and in all aspects of Physical/Nutritional Management. Administrative responsibilities include: development of procedures, personnel management, interdepartmental planning, budget development and management, tracking of expenditures, and quality assurance. The Director directly supervises the section managers and has line management authority over all staff assigned. The Director works with the Coordinator of Habilitation Therapy Services to share and facilitate best practices, ensure uniformity of procedures, support system values and mission, and to assist the Coordinator to complete projects as requested.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
