The Plant Finance Analyst position exists to provide financial expertise and support for the Plant Strategic Leadership Team and Corporate Product Supply Chain Finance whilst helping to ensure adequate governance and controls at the Plant level.

The Richmond, Indiana plant is an established global pet food manufacturing site. The Finance Analyst will assist in development of reporting and presenting to Plant Leadership teams, participate in developing budgets and reconciling actual results, support financial awareness (plant training on finance) and governance (internal controls/SOX duties). This position’s core areas of responsibility will include capital investments, participation on plant initiatives focused on efficiency, root cause analysis, automation, data driven analytics, dashboard and PI development, MRO procurement, Inventory Management including physical counts, SAP queries, etc.

As with all other Salaried Plant positions, the Finance Analyst is a member of the Plant’s Coordinating Team typically representing the top 25 cross functional leaders in Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR, Quality and Environmental Health & Safety. The Finance Analyst is a relied upon consultant to the business. This position reports to the Plant Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Plant Controller in the coordination of the Budget, LE, and MRE process by ensuring adherence to timelines and data submission requests. Analyze and verify budget cost changes vs. prior periods.

  • Collaborate with the Plant Controller and Engineering Team on the Capital Management program:

  • Engage with the Engineering Team for monthly spend discussions, project status, and asset updates

  • Review capital spend for appropriateness and reconcile cost tracking worksheets to the general ledger monthly

  • Prepare capitalization files for monthly review and submission

  • Coordinate, perform, and document Fixed Asset physical count, and validation of results (e.g. potential write-offs, idles)

  • Assist with the development and validation of Financials supporting the Capital Program

  • Assist in month-end close activities: preparing and booking journal entries; working with budget owners to develop accruals; preparing expense and balance sheet account reconciliations; and preparing detailed spending reports and variance analysis (overtime, temps, etc).

  • Drive improvement activities in Accounts Payable to reduce transaction costs and increase value added reporting capabilities to the Plant:

  • Engage with Plant personnel to ensure timely resolution of invoices in MRBR/GRIR query resolution

  • Monitor purchase order reports in SAP to ensure timely and accurate goods receipts and PO closure

  • Create purchase requisitions and convert them to purchase orders after approval as requested

  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash and misc deposits

  • Responsible for leases, including new leases, DLC, & associated budgets

  • Participate in full physical inventories and assist in researching inventory variances

  • Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley audit testing, as it pertains to all internal control SOPs

  • Provide support in driving Funding the Growth (FTG) discipline; validate potential savings, track results, and ensure implementation of savings projects

  • Understand and comply with Hill’s policies, safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety. Identify and report Food Safety issues to management

  • Participation on cross-functional teams and special projects, as needed, necessitating interaction with a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, including Colgate Palmolive Shared Business Service Centers, various Plant Teams, Corporate Partners, Indirect Procurement, Colgate Internal Audit, Vendors, other Mfg Facilities, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain or related fields

  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace tools

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing and/or Customer Service & Logistics

  • CPA, CMA or Candidate

  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to collaboratively work with cross-functional personnel in a team based environment

  • Ability to work independently, at times under stressful conditions, to meet deadlines / commitments

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $72,400.00 - $93,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
