The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. This position is responsible for developing new and existing accounts in both group and business transient segments and is a key contributor to the success of the hotel. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing and in conjunction with Revenue and Marketing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Evaluate and qualify new incoming inquiries

• Prospect for new business opportunities

• Leverage relationships with existing accounts to obtain new business

• Develop a market strategy with targeted initiatives

• Client site inspections, presentations and entertainment as required

• Attend trade/consumer shows and industry events

• Conduct client meetings and follow-up

• Utilize database to record sales activities

• Maintain knowledge of the market including competitors

• Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3-4 years proven sales experience in a full-service Hotel environment

• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize

• Able to clearly communicate in English in a professional manner

• Detail oriented, strong organization and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task

• Be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

• Must be able to achieve agreed upon sales targets

• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment in an office setting

• The ability to travel as required (domestic and international)

• A valid driver’s license and use of an automobile as necessary

• Must be computer literate with MS office applications

• Experience with Opera, Lightspeed and Marriott’s CI/TY program an asset
