Where the team fits in

As a key member of our Content and Growth team, you will experience interesting and challenging work. Our team set the brand vision for our company - what our identity stands for, how we educate the property market through the right data and insights and how best to communicate the stories that matter.

This role works with our in-house and contributor news team as well as our economic and data analytics team to create outstanding property, data, economic and finance editorial, which grows digital content audiences across residential, commercial and financial services sites. This role is for an ambitious self-starter that has great ideas combined with the passion, strategy and ability to make them happen.

As the Property News Editor, we need someone that can generate ideas for editorial and data-led content that is not only on point for our brand, but is engaging and resonates with our property-savvy audience.

What the role is all about

Lead the creation of compelling property, data, economic and finance journalism across realestate.com.au, realcommercial.com.au and mortgagechoice.com.au

  • Write news stories and ensure all content published is timely and accurate

  • Manage relationships with external contributors and assign stories to the in-house team

  • Harness key audience levers to grow the digital content audience

  • Co-ordinate, sub edit and build in-house and external contributor copy

  • Lead the development of weekly and monthly news eDMs and omnichannel marketing activity

  • Maintain and develop the content calendar and WIP documents and lead team news conferences

  • Curate content on-site, App, and Apple News channels

  • Upload and manage delivery of content through our CMS

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally

Who we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in editorial content production.

  • Strong background in news/economic/property/finance reporting and editorial planning

  • Ability to interpret data to tell a compelling story for consumers

  • Demonstrated ability to write, commission and edit consumer-focused content that provides analysis of current market and economic conditions

  • Knowledge of best practice SEO content production

  • Expertise in CMS (WordPress preferred)

  • Sound project management skills. Proven ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • An understanding of concepts such as website tracking, analytics and technical concepts

  • Understanding of how best to engage online audiences and use the latest technologies to drive traffic

  • Understanding the digital user experience to ensure content helps provide confidence to the consumer on any part of their property journey
