Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) manages one of the most challenging radioactive waste cleanup projects in the country. Our focus is reducing the environmental risk posed by 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in 177 underground tanks on the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is looking for a Training Specialist to support the Technical and Support Staff Training group.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Stand-Up Technical Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to our employees, ensuring they are proficient in expected training outcomes. This role requires exceptional communication skills, deep technical knowledge, and a passion for teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging technical training sessions in a stand-up format.
Develop, design and update training materials, including presentations, manuals, and guides.
Assess the training needs of clients and employees and customize sessions accordingly.
Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce learning.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and assessments.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure training aligns with company goals and objectives.
Note: This is a stand-up instructor position. The chosen candidate should expect to spend a measurable amount of time performing in classroom instruction. Those who apply should have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and helping others learn and succeed.
Required Qualifications
Grade 16:
BA/BS degree in related discipline and five (5) years of experience or a combination of education and experience
Grade 17:
BA/BS degree in related discipline and six (6) years of experience or a combination of education and experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 18:
BA/BS degree in related discipline and eight (8) years of experience or a combination of education and experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience as a technical trainer or similar role.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Certification in training or instructional design is a plus.
Knowledge of Operations, Maintenance, or other Technical Support in a Chemical, Nuclear, or other Industrial Field.
Knowledge of Documented Safety Analysis, Nuclear Safety Principles
Experience using Vision Developer Software
Certifications in training or instructional design (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer, or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance).
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $86,138
Hiring Range Maximum: $131,425
