A Carnegie R1 highest-research-activity land-grant university, Washington State University is one of the nation's top 60 public research universities according to U.S. News and World Report. WSU conducts transformational research and provides world-class education to a diverse student population of approximately 30,000 students statewide. Founded in Pullman in 1890, WSU today consists of four campuses: Pullman (24,000 students), Spokane (1,200 students), Tri-Cities (2,000 students), and Vancouver (3,000 students). This multi-campus system shares one central administration and one faculty. The various campuses operate as units of one single state-wide university campus, according to WSU's philosophy of one faculty that is geographically distributed. Additional information about the appeal of joining WSU may be found at https://www.wsujobs.com/ As a land-grant institution, Washington State University strongly values diversity among its faculty, staff and students and is committed to excellence in research, learning, and outreach to all constituents.

WSU's Tri-Cities campus is in Richland, WA on the west banks of the majestic Columbia River. In this region, Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco make up the Tri-Cities, Washington. The campus draws from a regional population of approximately 260,000, and is expanding its reach both nationally and internationally, also benefiting from a newly renovated airport. The growing campus has approximately 1,500 students who are served by nearly 90 full-time and 150 adjunct faculty members, many of whom are full-time researchers and scientists at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory or local science and engineering firms. WSU Tri-Cities is experiencing a time of unprecedented growth and development. Legislative support, tremendous community leadership and backing, and partnerships with businesses and community organizations have resulted in many exciting new and expanded initiatives in dynamic student engagement, research, and community collaborations.

WSU Tri-Cities is committed to creating a student-ready campus, marked by academic excellence, career-connected learning, and social belonging. This commitment is informed by our belief that all students, faculty, and staff contribute value to our campus culture. We ascribe to an assets-based framework for understanding and celebrating difference and are deeply committed to closing equity gaps where they exist. We are proud that almost half of our students are first in their family to attend college and almost half of our students identify as students of color. We believe that this diversity is a great strength in the classroom and across the many co-curricular activities in which WSU Tri-Cities students participate and lead.
