iParametrics LLC Senior Structural Engineer in Richland, Washington

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join the team and support the design development for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program. In this role, you will prepare studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. You will collaborate with other structural engineers and technical disciplines in a dynamic team environment.

This position is part of a major contractor team with a long history of handling significant efforts for the United States and allied governments, including chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery. GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation’s aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent.

This is an on-site position available in Richland, WA, Ogden, UT, and Merritt Island, FL. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of concrete and steel structural design and drawings, including seismic

Foundation design and drawings

  • Assist with boring oversight and walkdowns of existing facilities

  • Perform formal calculations and drawings

  • Review existing conditions and as-builts drawings

  • Review customer & vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution

  • Develop design configuration packages for configuration control, change management, and procurement

  • Develop design specifications for construction and/or procurement

  • Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product

  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team

  • Travel up to 25% of the time to customer and project locations to coordinate designs with team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.

  • Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities.

  • Familiarity with CAD applications.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local codes and standards applicable to structural engineering design.

  • Professional Engineer License preferred but not required.

  • United States Citizen Required. Able to obtain DOD Top Secret Clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess active security clearance

  • Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States

  • MS degree in Structural or related Engineering, from an accredited university.

  • Experience designing seismic bracing and supports.

  • Experience executing engineering and design with Revit

  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide

  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense

  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000

  • Knowledge in use of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.

  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense

  • Experience with use or knowledge of Revit

  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact

     

Benefits/Compensation:

As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly, ranging from $21.75 to $70.00 per hour, based on experience, background, and skills.
