Energy Northwest HP Technician - Outage in Richland, Washington

Join the Energy Northwest team as we complete our 27th refueling outage at Columbia Generating Station.

Scheduled Duration: 56 Days

Outage Start Date: April 11, 2025

Hire Dates: March 3-31, 2025, unless otherwise specified

Work Hour During Outage: Generally, six 12-hour shifts per week (straight nights or straight days)

Overtime: Significant overtime pay, often with 20+ hours per week paid at double (2x) the hourly rate of pay

Income Taxes: Washington does not have state income taxes

Unemployment: Washington unemployment benefits are generally available following the end of assignment

GENERAL SUMMARY

This is a temporary position supporting the plant’s biennial refueling outage.

Responsible for performing routine health physics tasks and special radiological surveillance and control, radiological surveys, dose assessment, instrument calibration, records, and report filing.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for assessment of airborne and/or surface contamination and radiation levels, and establishing radiological controls for station activities.

  • Typical duties of job include performing routine and special health physics tasks such as plant radiological surveillance and control, radiological surveys, dose assessment, instrument calibration, radiological records and report filing.

  • Assist in training of technicians/others, and participate in writing, reviewing, and revising of health physics procedures as directed.

  • Function as a plant emergency plan team member, and perform other tasks as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least three years commercial nuclear power plant health physics experience; OR an Associate's degree in Science/Engineering/Mathematics or military nuclear training coupled with at least two years commercial nuclear power health physics experience.

This is a bargaining unit position and the hourly pay rate is:

$59.52

Pay In Lieu of Benefits Amount:

$1.50
