Your Mission

As our Cloud Community Program Manager , you'll be a critical voice in assessing and promoting the adoption of cloud platforms and technologies, inspiring developers, research customers, sponsors, and decision-makers to harness the power of the cloud like never before. You'll spread the word of cloud computing far and wide, sharing our solutions, highlighting research innovators, and revolutionizing the way organizations approach technology.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and Educate: Drive awareness and understanding of available and emerging cloud platforms through captivating presentations and coordinating webinars and workshops. Turn skeptics into believers and novices into experts measuring increase competency across the organization.

  • Build Community: Cultivate a vibrant community of cloud enthusiasts, developers, and thought leaders. Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation to propel the cloud revolution forward.

  • Thought Leadership: Drive our strategic position in key conferences, workshops, and publications, showcasing our expertise, sharing innovative insights, and fostering collaboration to shape lab/industry discourse.

  • Customer Advocacy: Be the voice of the customer within our organization. Advocate for their needs, gather feedback, and champion solutions that empower them to succeed in the cloud.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA and 9+ years of relevant project management experience -OR-

  • MS/MA or higher and 7+ years of relevant project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Marketing, or related field AND 6+ years of technical Project Management, Marketing Operations, or related experience.

  • 4+ years of specialized functional (e.g., Cloud/HPC computing, Security, AI) experience.

  • Experience guiding creative input, development, and execution from concept to completion.

  • Passionate about cloud, cloud architectures and adoption and proven track record of working in a customer-facing role.

  • In-depth technical knowledge and skillful presentation and public speaking abilities in addressing working teams, large audiences, executives, researchers, and analysts.

  • Complex project management experience in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Business acumen, aptitude for insightful analysis, and skilled in crafting and delivering compelling messaging and value propositions.

  • Ability to successfully lead, innovate, and openly collaborate across diverse functional organizations, time zones, and cultures.

  • Must be able to independently identify issues and problems and provide recommended solutions to overcome those problems.

  • Ability to build technical and business credibility with research staff and grow mind share with highly strategic partners.

Additional Information

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance with 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.

  • Drug Testing: All Security Clearance positions are Testing Designated Positions, which means that the candidate selected is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).

Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 months can be demonstrated.

Testing Designated Position

This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The candidate selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing for illegal drugs, including marijuana, consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the PNNL Workplace Substance Abuse Program.

HSPD-12 PIV Credential Requirement

In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, new employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.

Mandatory Requirements

Please be aware that the Department of Energy (DOE) prohibits DOE employees and contractors from having any affiliation with the foreign government of a country DOE has identified as a “country of risk” without explicit approval by DOE and Battelle. If you are offered a position at PNNL and currently have any affiliation with the government of one of these countries, you will be required to disclose this information and recuse yourself of that affiliation or receive approval from DOE and Battelle prior to your first day of employment.
