JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY A Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing robust quality assurance processes for suppliers to ensure that the materials provided meet the required quality standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Creates and maintains quality assurance processes for suppliers, which includes inspection plans, quality control procedures, and documentation requirements. -Evaluates incoming material and disposes of non-conforming material from both suppliers and customers. -Documents customer-provided material non-conformances and communicates that to the customer through the Project Manager. -Works with suppliers to develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans to address quality issues using a Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) report. -Monitors and reports on supplier performance. -Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of potential and existing suppliers to ensure their capabilities meet the required quality standards. -Collaborates with the Outsourcing Team to qualify new suppliers and conduct supplier audits as necessary. -Has consistent contact with suppliers to communicate quality expectations and provide feedback. -Regularly travels to suppliers for auditing purposes. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -High school degree or equivalent. -Ability to define problems, drive to the root cause, and take practical corrective actions. -Basic knowledge of ISO standards and Six Sigma tools. -Ability to read blueprints. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or a related technical field. -Auditing/QMS certification (i.e., Internal Auditing, Certified Quality Auditor) PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS The physical and mental demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
