FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER - RICHFIELD Part Time Child Caregiver in RICHFIELD, Utah
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide relief for parents by caring for their children in the Crisis/Respite Nursery. Accommodation of children's needs which will include daily one on one interaction with developmentally appropriate child activities, housekeeping, meal prep and self-care. Shifts available M-F 4:00pm-10:00pm M-F & rotating weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Childcare experience- Ability to set limits, supervise and maintain a safe and positive environment; Be able to engage a child in a manner appropriate to his/her skill level; Use safe and appropriate behavior management techniques approved by the Family Support Center; Provide childcare in a friendly, patient, and caring way; Organize structured activities to engage children
Prepare, serve, and clean up after meals; Meals must be approved and follow the Utah State Food Program Guidelines and documented accurately following CACFP guidelines
Child Development Knowledge- Ability to help child in developmentally appropriate activities, games, crafts, etc.; Daily 1:1 interaction with all children in the nursery; Knowledge of and strict obedience to approved safe behavior management strategies
Record Keeping- Will be required to document all activities and incidents, maintain, and safe-guard client files, including but not limited to progress notes, incident reports, time sheets, appropriately document interactions with parents, children, and other professionals
Communication-Effectively and regularly communicate with Nursery Coordinator about any child concerns, make appropriate referrals if child abuse or neglect is suspected; Attend monthly staff meetings; have shifts changes approved by the Nursery Coordinator
Training- Compete monthly online trainings; Attend in person trainings that are scheduled; maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification; Pass an annual background check
Professionalism-Be aware of and follow Nursery rules; Answer phones and maintain phone records, including scheduling and denial log as needed; Dress in modest, clean attire and arrive well-groomed; Cell phone use is prohibited except in the care of emergencies; Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in FSC Handbook and Policy and Procedure Manual
Supervise the dropping off and picking up of children as guidelines require (i.e., checking ID, helping parent's complete sign-in paperwork, etc.).
Maintain household cleanliness and follow chore guidelines for shift being worked.
Supervise any volunteers or non-employees while they are in the building.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provide safe and meaningful childcare at other Family Support sponsored events such as parenting classes, and events that the Family Support Center is supporting such as conferences and support groups; Other duties as assigned
TRAINING & QUALIFICATONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's Degree required in a related field and/or at least four years of experience in a nonprofit environment.
CPR/First Aid Certification
Other various trainings as required by contracts and licensing.
