Actalent Project Manager in Richardson, Texas

Description:

Can work in KC or Richardson, TX. If they work in KC, then will need to travel up to 4 nights a month to visit job site. 90% of projects are mission critical, others will be small T/E projects at facility.

This opportunity is with a leading mission-critical general contractor. This firm provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client's mission-critical operational facilities. They provide reliability of mission-critical facilities for some of the world's largest financial and telecommunications organizations.

Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing mission critical construction projects. This will include providing leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of projects. Project assignments will be primarily in the Richardson, TX area with possibility of additional project assignments throughout the country. Some travel required for project meetings, site visits and other tasks requiring attendance. Project scopes range from minor infrastructure upgrades to new ground up facilities.

The candidate will have overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects on budget on time and assurance that the project scope and quality meet company and Client standards and the objectives set for the project.

• Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors in order to manage the day to day activities that impact the delivery of company’s critical facilities construction projects

• Ensure that all day to day project responsibilities are met by the contractors and vendors on the project

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary.

• Responsible for creating and managing project schedules

• Prepare project plans – scope, costs, budget, scheduling , timeline, manage change orders, etc

• Prepare Methods of Procedure for critical environment work efforts

• Deliver projects with an emphasis on value-engineering

• Drive company standards uniformly regarding project delivery by all project participants on all projects

• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, construction costs, income / expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client

• Represent the company in project meetings

• Act as key liaison with managers of all company departments

• Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project

• Possess an extensive network within the mission critical data center facilities market

• Background in critical facilities design, engineering and construction services

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have:

-degree in CM or electrical engineering

-Has managed at least 2-3 mission critical projects

-10+ years experience as a construction PM

• Client facing / client relationship / client management skills

• Must be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects

• Solid construction project management experience

• Effective communicator – emails, phone, video conferencing and face to face

• Ability to work independently

• Solid admin skills

• Computer savvy: Primavera P6, Procore, CMiC, Excel, Office 365 preferred
